Activating an eSIM on Android

Step 1: Open your phone’s Settings application. 

Step 2: Tap on your phone’s Internet connection settings. This button may be called some variation of the following:

• Internet
• Connections
• Mobile Networks
• Mobile Data
• Etc.

Step 3: Now, you need to navigate to the section within your phone settings that allows you to install a new line or profile. This varies depending on your device, however we can help you with the most common phone manufacturers below. If you have any additional questions, or need help locating this setting, please check your device user manual or contact customer support. 

• Samsung: On Samsung Phones, tap on SIM card manager. Then, tap on Add Mobile Plan. 
• Google Pixel: On the Google Pixel, tap on SIMs. You’ll see the title “Connect to mobile network” and instructions to insert a SIM card into your phone. Instead of inserting a physical SIM as the instructions on the screen suggest, tap on “Download a SIM Instead” which is located towards the bottom of the screen, then tap on Next. 
• Oppo: On Oppo phones, tap on eSIM inside of the “SIM card & mobile data” section. Then tap on “ADD”. Tap on “NEXT” towards the bottom of the screen, to continue with the installation. 

Step 4: Scan your QR code. This code is provided to you after you complete the activation process. It will appear on the screen or you can click on the link that was sent to you by email to access it. Hold your phone up to the screen to scan the QR code. 

Step 5: It may take a few minutes to download the new profile. 

Step 6: After the download is complete you’ll be redirected to the SIM card Settings page, which will allow you to enable your SIM card and set your calling, texting, and internet usage preferences.  

Important! Removing or deleting your eSIM is permanent. Avoid removing any eSIM unless you no longer plan to use that wireless plan. 

On some phones, you can temporarily turn your eSIM profile off (similar to the way you can turn WiFi usage off and on). This is fine, and will not cause you to lose your eSIM profile.
