I lost my cellphone which obviously had my sim card in it at the time I lost it. I have bought another unlocked gsm device and I would like to be able to use my existing and active Unreal Mobile service rather than open a new account and get a new phone number.
Initially I submitted a request asking how to go about getting a new sim card and having it programmed to my existing service. It was the weekend when my phone was lost and since I live in a little town that doesn't have a Target or BestBuy I figured I would have to get the sim card mailed to me. This was three weeks ago and I still have not received a response. In the mean time I have been using a AT&T prepaid device that has a daily plan. I've been very busy and the few times I have had a chance to try and contact Unreal I have been unsuccessful in finding help or answers.
Finally yesterday I happened to be out of town and passed a Target so I stopped there and they had Unreal Mobile Sim cards for $3 that can be activated and put on any plan. The sales rep told me that it could also be used as a replacement sim for my existing service and that I would be able to do this through the online my account page. I have not been able to figure it out nor was I able to get anyone on the phone before they closed today. Im posting here and submitting another request with high hopes someone can help me figure this out. I have found articles about replacing your phone but it says to simply move your sim to the new device....what if you no longer have the sim?!!!?
Other than not being able to resolve this issue I have been very satisfied with Unreal mobile. Considering the service cost literally pennies on the dollar compared to major wireless providers its only realistic and reasonable to expect that some sacrifices must be made to deliver such deep savings. I do not mind that the customer service team has much less availability but it would be nice to see self help articles for issues like this one and it would be nice to be able to get some sort of response when submitting a request. If flaws like these can be addressed Ill be a loyal customer.
